I didn't post anything yesterday, I was feeling better than I had in a long while. I finally got some work done on the house. I even had enough energy to cook dinner. I made some yummy Parmesan Chicken with mac 'n cheese and green beans. It felt good to be able to do things like that again. However, today I'm paying for it. :( I feel like I'm on a roller coaster, but honestly it's better than not having a good day at all. A family friend came and took Jack (my dog) to get a little exercise. He has a fenced in yard up in Hixson where he is staying and fixing up a house. He just finished putting up a fence and asked if he could take Jack up there for a few days. Of course, I jumped at that opportunity, I knew Jack would appreciate it. Hopefully, when my meds kick in, I will be able to take him walking myself. That is just one of the things I wish to do when I am feeling better.

Life Style Changes: WHAT TO EAT??
Well, with the diagnoses, come treatment. So I get the medicine yesterday and I am told to take on an empty stomach, and not to eat for an hour. Also, I can't take any Antacids, Vitamins or eat anything with Calcium or Iron in it for 4 hours. So, what in the world am I supposed to eat for breakfast?? My phone has turned into a alarm clock 2-3 times a day. Take medicine at 7am, then 11am take Vitamin D (one of the other lab results stated I was deficient), But what am I supposed to eat? Due to my thyroid condition, I also had high cholesterol now. Sheesh! I ate a yogurt a little bit ago, but I am flippin starving, but have nothing to really eat. Before learning of the diagnoses, my family pretty much ate whatever we wanted. (Well, if I am going to be eating more fruits, veggies and leaner meats, so can they!) So this means, we have very little that I can eat right now. Looks like a trip to Bi-Lo is in the forecast for today. Well, I am going to cut this short, cause I am feeling very tired all of a sudden. Look for more posts soon, ok? And thank you for following my blog! Peace and Love to you all!
Introduction
This is me, This is my story. My story of being diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
About a week ago, I went to my doctor appointment. It was just a normal yearly check-up type thing. After talking with a friend about all the weird symptoms I was having lately, she advised me to have my doctor check my thyroid. So, I did, and he felt my throat and talked like he didn't think I had a problem with my thyroid, but he couldn't by law, not order the blood work.
So, 2, or 3, days ago, I got the call I had been waiting on. The results were in. I had a disease called Hypothyroidism. I did what I normally do when I need answers, I Googled it! This is what Google stated: Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone.
The more I researched and talked to people with thyroid conditions, the more I realized. I could have had this most of my life and never knew it! But why? How can a condition that is more common than breast cancer be so overlooked? I continue to look for answers, and meanwhile, I am going to do what ever I can do to help spread the knowledge myself. So, I decided to start this blog, hoping to inspire others or at least get the word out to CHECK YOUR THYROID to everyone, everywhere. So, come along with me on this journey to learn, inspire and educate others. Let us spread the truth about Thyroid Awareness all over the world!
